Connect C-Pen Reader 3 and C-Pen Lingo 3 to Oticon hearing aids

Bluetooth hearing aids typically use a specific way of communicating via Bluetooth, called ASHA. This is different from the way ordinary Bluetooth headsets work.

To solve this, and enable use of C-Pen Reader 3 and C-Pen Lingo 3 with your Oticon hearing aids, you can use their ConnectClip.

How to connect Reader 3 & Lingo 3 with your Oticon hearing aids

Pairing your hearing aids with ConnectClip

  1. Ensure ConnectClip is powered off.

  2. Press and hold the multi-button for approximately six seconds until the power indicator is off.

Turn your hearing aids off.

  • For hearing aids with disposable batteries, open the battery drawer

  • For rechargeable hearing aids, turn them off by pressing the lower button of each hearing aid for three seconds

Turn your hearing aids on.

  • For hearing aids with disposable batteries, close the battery drawer

  • For rechargeable hearing aids, turn them on by pressing the lower button of each hearing aid for two seconds, or put them in the charger and then take them out again

The hearing aids are now ready for the first connection with the ConnectClip. You now have three minutes to complete the pairing.

Turn ConnectClip on.

  • Press and hold the multi-button for approximately three seconds until power indicator shows steady green.

  • ConnectClip will now search for your hearing aids. The status indicator will blink yellow.

Establish a connection.

  • Place ConnectClip close to your hearing aids, at a maximum distance of 20cm.

  • A successful connection is indicated by the status indicator showing steady yellow.

 

 

Pairing ConnectClip with your Reader 3 & Lingo 3

Put ConnectClip in phone pairing mode.

  • Press and hold the multi-button AND the volume up button for about six seconds until the status indicator blinks blue.

  • The ConnectClip will remain in pairing mode for about three minutes.

Begin pairing on your mobile phone.

  • Ensure that Bluetooth® is turned on in your phone’s Settings.

  • Search for and select ConnectClip to connect to it.

  • If your phone requests a pin code, enter 0000.

  • Pairing is complete when the ConnectClip status indicator light illuminates steady blue.
