Firmware update - C-Pen Secure Reader 2

Important Notice

It is important that the steps below are followed and that update compatibility is secured prior to making any update.

Current Secure Reader 2 software version

Go to Settings/System Information/Version and check Software version.
 
 
 

Upgrade options

Each upgrade may take 5-20 minutes to complete.

Secure Reader 2 upgrades are incremental and it is required to walk through them all starting from the version currently installed.

Upgrade to 1.0.05

Upgrade from 1.0.04 version of Secure Reader 2.
NOTE: this is a 3G file and the process will take time.

Download: 1.0.05 full update

🏃 Steps to upgrade to 1.0.05

  1. Download and unzip the 1.0.05 upgrade file.
  2. Power up Secure Reader 2 and connect it by USB to your computer.
  3. Navigate to Settings/System Information/Version and press MENU button.This will activate Secure Reader 2 U-disk mode.
  4. On your computer, locate your unzipped upgrade file on your computer and copy updatesys_1.0.05.004.BIN and sysdict.BIN to your Secure Reader 2 disk.
  5. On your computer, eject Secure Reader 2 disk from your computer and detach the USB cable.
  6. On Secure Reader 2, press OK button three (3) times rapidly to trigger firmware to update.
  7. Use nav button to select YES and press OK button again.
  8. After pen reboots - reboot it manually once more.

Upgrade to 1.0.04

Upgrade from 1.0.02 version of Secure Reader 2.

Download: 1.0.04 full update

🏃 Steps to upgrade to 1.0.04

  1. Download and unzip the 1.0.04 upgrade file.
  2. Power up Exam Reader 2 and connect it by USB to your computer.
  3. Navigate to Settings/System Information/Version and press MENU button.This will activate Exam Reader 2 U-disk mode.
  4. On your computer, locate your unzipped upgrade file on your computer and copy sysdict.BIN and updatesys_1.0.04.001.BIN to your Exam Reader 2 disk.
  5. On your computer, eject Exam Reader 2 disk from your computer and detach the USB cable.
  6. On Exam Reader 2, press OK button three (3) times rapidly to trigger firmware to update.
  7. Use nav button to select YES and press OK button again.
  8. After pen reboots - reboot it manually once more.
